Magnesium on its own is not a cure form the cramps.
This alone did not alleviate the night leg cramps. However, when I asked my doctor, he suggested a glass of tonic water containing quinine. Furthermore, sugarless tonic water contains more ‘quinine’ to sweeten the drink than regular tonic water, which is more of a soft drink.
