Brandy Winfree
Highlights
Brandy is owner of Brandy Winfree, RDN, through which she provides virtual nutrition services and nutrition writing services. Her passion is to help people make effective changes to their diets without taking food away. She is based in the Florida Panhandle.
She is also the Co-Chair of the Council on Renal Nutrition of Florida and a Dietitian Mentor through Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University.
When not working, you can find Brandy hiking, running, doing yoga, playing games with her family, or cooking her favorite recipes.
Experience
Brandy graduated with her Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics from Louisiana Tech University in 2013. She has worked for the last several years in dialysis and preventative care, specializing in chronic kidney disease. Prior to that she worked in hospitals where she worked extensively with those undergoing cancer treatment, those with significant wounds, and those with heart disease, diabetes, and kidney disease. She also completed a 1200-hour dietetic internship at Louisiana Tech University in 2016 where she obtained knowledge of food services, clinical nutrition education, and general nutrition education. She loves turning complex biochemical processes into bite-sized education to help make her clients’ lives easier.
Education
Brandy completed her Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics at Louisiana Tech University in 2013 and continued there to complete her 1200 hour dietetic internship and to complete a graduate certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her Masters in Business Administration in 2021 during lockdown for COVID-19. Brandy’s interest in nutrition started as a detail-oriented kid’s adventures in cooking and have developed into a lifelong passion. Brandy’s primary goal is to convey as much nutrition education as possible to the general public to fight misinformation and fad diets and to help readers learn to eat well for their bodies and their minds.
