How Does It Work? | The Science Behind Murad

Murad products are made using clinically researched ingredients that do not contain sulfates, paraben, or wheat. The products target various skin conditions, including uneven skin, dark spots, acne, dry skin, oily skin, wrinkles, fine lines, saggy skin, and dull skin.

Murad acne control and exfoliating cleansers contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and other ingredients that help remove dirt, oil, and impurities without over-drying the skin.

Murad rapid age spot and pigment lightening serum are manufactured with glycolic acid and tranexamic acid to help lighten dark spots and brighten the skin. The brand has other products that contain different ingredients to address various skin issues.

Murad Ingredients – The Evidence

Salicylic Acid
Salicylic acid is a class of salicylates that deeply penetrates the skin pores. The acid helps unclog pores, prevent formation of blackheads and whiteheads, and exfoliates dead skin cells. Salicylic acid also reduces blemishes and improve the appearance of the skin.

A publication in The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology reveals that salicylic acid is added to acne medications because it helps get rid of acne and prevent further breakout.

Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is a water-soluble acid obtained from sugarcane. It is an acne-fighting acid and helps fight breakouts and other skin problems. The acid makes the skin complexion more even and smooth.

According to Clinical, Cosmetic, and Investigational Dermatology, glycolic acid is used in peels to help get rid of dead skin cells.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs in the body naturally. The acid helps lock in skin moisture, thus hydrating the skin and improving its appearance.

According to the Dermato Endocrinology journal, hyaluronic acid improves skin hydration, enhances elasticity and firmness, and treats wrinkles. The journal also claims that after using products that have hyaluronic acid for a while, skin texture also improves.

Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a B3 vitamin that treats hyperpigmentation, reduces the appearance of pores, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and improves skin elasticity, as we mentioned in our DRMTLGY Product Review, which contains the same ingredients.

A study report in the National Library of Medicine suggests that niacinamide helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also reduces hyperpigmentation on the skin.

Murad reviews - Best Murad Renewing Eye Cream so far.

I originally received a sample of Murad Renewing Eye Cream and loved it so much, I ordered it. Within a few days of using my dark under-eye circles nearly disappeared giving them a firmer, brighter appearance. Though Murad Renewing Eye Cream is expensive I will continue to use it.
